LOCATION Set in the heart of beautiful
Perthshire, Scotland,
Blairgowrie remains unspoilt yet is itself a centre of
activity for the area.
Blairgowrie on the West bank and Rattray on the East bank of
the river Ericht together form one small town, a peaceful holiday centre from
which to explore the countryside in all seasons; an ideal touring centre for
Perthshire and the
Highlands.
Visit Perth, with its fine shops and theatre, passing the Beech
Hedge at Meiklour on the way;
Pitlochry with its dam, salmon ladder and
Festival Theatre; Loch
Tay, Loch Tummel and Loch Rannoch; the Nature Reserve at the
Loch of the Lowes, where ospreys nest,
Braemar and Royal Deeside, returning by Banchory and the
Cairn o'Mount, the Angus Glens and coastal resorts; the Kingdom of Fife, easily
reached by Dundee and the Tay road bridge, to see St. Andrews, Falkland Palace
and the delightful fishing villages of the East Neuk. Watch Highland Games,
too, mainly in August and September, and enjoy Highland entertainment weekly in
Blairgowrie throughout the summer.
Historic Sites include
Scone Palace, Perth;
Glamis Castle and
the Angus Folk Museum of carved Pictish Stones; the Cathedral and National
Trust houses at Dunkeld; Ardblair with its Jacobite relics; and Roman sites at
Cardean and Inchtuthill.
Entertainment. Good food and drink can be
enjoyed at many of the local hotels, restaurants or pubs. The adjacent

public are frequently run in winter and summer. Theatres, Concert Halls - Perth,
